With the main web site for Pembroke Basketball nearing completion, we have stopped updating this site. All updates and scheduling changes have been moved to pembrokebasketball.net under the Boys 5th Grade Travel team.

The new site features an updated, printable schedule with more options plus standings and game results.

ERBL Annual Muscato Tournament

Easton Recreational Basketball is pleased to announce its 2008 Muscato Holiday Basketball Tournament. The tournament will once again be held at the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex on the campus of Stonehill College in North Easton Massachusetts on Friday December 26, Saturday December 27 and Sunday December 28. Year-in and year-out, this tournament draws top level boys and girl travel teams from Eastern Massachusetts.

This year, the Muscato Tournament has been named a qualifying tournament for the 2nd annual Grade 8 State Championship, to be held at the Mansfield SportsPlex and Wheaton College in Norton March 21-22, 2009. The top Massachusetts finishers in the Grade 8 boys and girls divisions will earn automatic berths into the state tournament.

Please note that there is a $5 admission fee for each of the tournament games or an $8 all-game pass available. Kids under 10 are admitted at no charge.

However, players and parents are invited to watch the Stonehill Skyhawks mens basketball game on Sunday at no charge.

2008 Muscato Tournament Rules

Tournament Rules

Two 15 Minute Stop Time Halves
No Shot clock, 10 Second backcourt rule
4 Minute Warm – Up
4 Minute Half Time
4 Time Outs per Game
Overtime 3 Minutes in Length. Each Team will receive 1 additional time out per overtime.
1 on 1 situation after 7 Team Fouls in a half
2 Shots fouls after 10 Team Fouls in a half
NO ZONES in 4&5 grade boy’s and girl’s divisions
No Pressing with a lead of 20 pts or more
No Pressing in 4/5 Divisions except last 2 minutes of first half and last 4 minutes of 2 half and any subsequent overtime.

Each team is responsible for cleaning bench area

Each team is responsible for their parent / fan behavior

Any coach or player who receives 2 technical fouls in a game or is ejected from a game MAY NOT participate in the next game.

1st team listed is home – Light Jersey 2nd team listed is Visitor – Dark Jersey

Tie Breakers

1st – Head to Head
2nd - Total Point Differential (+ or – 13 points per game)
3rd – Fewest total points allowed
4th – Coin Flip

1st place team from A Pool will play first place team from B pool in Championship Game on Sunday

12/19 Practice cancelled

Pembroke schools are closing early on Friday December 19 due to the weather storm forecast. As such, our practice has also been cancelled.

Our next game is scheduled for 6:30 on Saturday December 20. Please plan to arrive by 6:15. We will let you know as soon as we hear of a change in plans due to the weather. Please check the web site for updates as well.

Just a reminder that we are now into the December practice schedule for the 5th grade travel team. We will be practicing on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6:30-8:00 at North Pembroke Elementary School. The full practice schedule is posted at pembrokesports.com.

Also remember that our first game is this Saturday December 6 at the Martinson School in Marshfield which is located behind the high school on Rt. 139. We have a 6:30 game against Norwell. Please arrive no later than 6:15 as the games are tightly scheduled and we need everyone there on time.

Practice schedule updated

The practice schedule for the 5th grade travel team has been updated and corrected at pembrokesports.com. We apologize for the confusion as the times and locations have changed several times to accommodate other activities at the school. This schedule is unlikely to be changed drastically although several practice sessions may need to be moved or cancelled due to school holidays, etc.

After December 1, we will practice at the North Elementary gym on Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:30PM-8:00PM. As always, please let us know if you will not be available for the practice.

Our next practice will be Thursday night from 8:00-9:15 at North Elementary. If anyone has not returned the signed form or provided us with their check, it is important to do so by this practice.
